Upon entering our office Nicole or Hayley will greet you and welcome you as the newest member of our practice. If you filled out our New Patient Forms online -- great! Otherwise, we will have you fill out our New Patient Forms in the office. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself, your health history, and your current lifestyle habits.
Next you will have a consultation with your doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for you to get to know your doctor, and for them to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care from out team will help you reach your goals.
Nervous System Scan
Following your consultation, either your doctor or a trained TEAM member will perform a thorough evaluation of your nervous system. These tests may vary depending on your age and situation, but generally include four separate tests. These include a Thermal Scan, sEMG, Pulse Wave Profiler, and Range of Motion. Together, these tests will provide your doctor with your Neuro Spinal Function Index, a value indicating the health of your nervous system.
After your Nervous System Scan, your doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations.
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to get the information we need to give you our best recommendations. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions and assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays and can often immediately identify their subluxations and spinal degeneration.
Report of Findings
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, your doctor will give you a brief summary of their findings. On your second visit, a thorough report of findings will be given, when your doctor will answer all your most important questions such as:
- Can you help me?
- What do you recommend that I do to get better?
- How much is it going to cost?
- How long is it going to take?
On the second visit, your doctor will go through a thorough report of findings to help you understand your condition, and know your options and our recommendations for correction and relief. If your doctor believes you are a good candidate for care in our office, we will provide you with our best care recommendations.
Once your doctor has determined that you are a good candidate for care at CornerStone Chiropractic, chiropractic adjustments may begin. Your first adjustment may take place on either your first or second visit, depending on your unique situation. In addition to chiropractic adjustments, your doctor may also recommend additional therapies to assist in your healing process, depending on your condition. Several different styles of chiropractic adjustments are used at CornerStone Chiropractic, making sure that your adjustment is comfortable and appropriate for your spinal health.
